Anonymous asked: hey, im a mom and its been a bit since ive been to tech school and this new school stuff stunts my thought process, so why does my son not need to login in or out of cookie clicker or sign up or anything like that? it's a type of streaming right? what kind of code u writ this stuff with? i don't need to worry about my kid being bothered by anyone do i? just concerned as i should be...he is eight & loves it, thx
Hey ! Glad your son likes our game. It’s pretty simple : the game uses a system named local storage which is, appropriately enough, related to the famous browser cookies - a bit of text that the game writes down when saving, and reads when loading the page to resume the previous game. This is done entirely on your computer (and is secure and harmless), we never see any of that data (which is all strictly game-related information anyway). I decided against adding a login system, I think it’s more fun if you can jump directly into the action when you open the page. If you really want your son to be absolutely 100% safe when playing, you can turn on an ad-blocker on the website.
I hope that helped (and I hope I wasn’t too pedantic) ! Good luck with the school stuff !
